The All-Female Ghostbusters Movie Was WAAAAAY Better Than This!
15 November 2022
Okay, so they aren't going to even try to make something good. Sure, they change out the original actors (4 men), and either turn them into females, or turn them into kids, and expect the story to write itself. Jason Reitman couldn't even come up with an original set design, we basically see a reproduction of what we saw in the 84 film on top of the building. So many ideas borrowed from the original movie, but nothing really makes sense or adds to the movie, like why is there a gun seat in the Ecto car? That kid (or anyone else for that matter) would have been sheered off while that thing was driving. It's just awful that this movie was designed for kids, not for the people who really enjoyed the original. It's part dumbing down of hollywood, and part-not having original ideas.

All they do is switch out the age or gender of the protagonists and expect everyone to run to the theater to watch it. First it was all women; then it was all-kids for the Stranger Things crowd (they even had the gall to use one of the Stranger Things cast members). Next incarnation will probably be all black or all asian, but exact same story line, and they'll pat themselves on the back having thought of themselves as clever with the idea.

In conclusion, I'll take the 2016 movie over this one, at least it was FUNNY, which this one isn't. This movie just took itself way too seriously, and the casting was too dull. It got the extra star because Paul Rudd is his usual engaging self, but even he can't save this movie. He's barely in it, even though the trailers sold it as a vehicle for him.
