Having watched the first four seasons of Magnum, and now starting the fifth, I must admit that Magnum, P. I. is really more than an action genre TV series. I'm surprised by how much surrealism there is in a Magnum episode, and touches of The Twilight Zone almost with a twist in the beautiful setting of Hawaii.
This episode, Mac's Back, is no exception, with a Mac lookalike returning or is he the real Mac who was blown up a couple of seasons ago. In the Magnum reboot I suggest that Brooklyn 99's Joe Lo Truglio play Mac please. He is a spitting image of the actor who plays Mac.
The ending was very touching and really makes you think about the final farewells of friends through thick and thin.
