This movie opens with a scene that got me on edge quicker than anything in recent memory and never really let up from there. I thought it stumbled a bit with some of the cinematography choices... Some super close-up angles on faces not matching, etc. I wonder how much of that had to do with shooting during the pandemic, which was woven into the story in an interesting way; always present but never the focus.

It's also set in an apartment complex that manages to call back to every memory you have of the apartment you lived in for those 6 months when you were between jobs, or relationships. You know the place? You've at least had a friend stay in one. Anyway, it adds a layer of tension to think that we are all very familiar with this location.

But all in all, there's a mystery, a monster, some legitimately creepy sequence, and some good performances, what more could you ask for?
