I had to see what all the controversy and fuss was about. From the opening scene and all throughout , there is this moody background music, promising some dark realities to be revealed, or to create sad emotion during a scene. It felt manipulative, trying to create drama or sad emotions, where there was none. Instead all we got were very basic general stories, like someone might tell over a dinner " I went to England and realized they aren't huggers". Or, "I bowed so low before the Queen, I nearly fell on my face" described like slapstick/ mocking. Everything else was a collection broad references to other people (or comparing Meghan to princess Di, for sympathy) . Harry at one point said something like "people will say anything to make a buck" without a hint of irony or self-awareness . Ha! Empty meaningless proclamations were sprinkled throughout "We have to overcome this" "They would never be pleased" . 100M Netflix? You raised my subscription to pay for this? I'd say it was awful and bad. But the reality is that it is so empty and meaningless and boring-- it doesn't rise to the level of being bad enough to hate. Avoid.
