colonial Delhi

TravelTalks visits the city of Delhi in India. I have to assume that this is the last days before the war. For that, this is an interesting artifact. James A. FitzPatrick does blabber on about Muslim and Hindu. It's always a bit awkward to have his voice talking about some cultural sensitivity. His phrasings are almost insulting. This is more interesting as a people watching exercise. The city hasn't changed that much over the years. Quite frankly, the street life hasn't changed that much either although I do notice a paucity of women in public in those few street scenes. I don't think I've ever seen an ivory screen especially one made over twenty years. It's awesome and awful at the same time. Next, this goes to some horsey action and other animals. Again, the animals in the streets are nothing new, but I can't object to him pointing it out for his American audience. It would have been very exotic for them.
