I loved the movie, although I wonder if they got the idea from the Norwegian movie "Når nettene blir lange", which is a movie about a dysfunctional family with 3 generations celebrating Christmas together and builds up to a lot of fighting and too much drinking, and the oldest man disappear outdoor in the snow in the night?
Anyway, it's very well written, very emotional and you can really feel how uncomfortable it must have been to be there, constantly afraid of the next fight. It's especially hard to see.the kids having to deal with the drinking and scary behavior of the adults.
The acting is superb. Paprika Steen is outstanding as always. The.movie brings up emotions that makes you reflect and hopefully you can learn from it and remind us to be kind and take care of family members, especially this time of the year.
