Just finished watching Ram Setu on Amazon Prime, was really disappointed by the movie. There are lots of flaws, quite evident which could have been addressed:
1. From the beginning we were introduced to a character from Pakistan which was never reused.
2. In the meeting with Indrakant (Boss Villan), the ship model was not accurate to the ship. While I am at it Indrakant as well as his goon have good styling and do not come out as villainous.
3. Just after the meeting Akshay Kumar comes out of a prestigious hotel and is black faced, as if it was planted by villan, he goes to his child's school in same instead of at least trying to clean it.
4. After the discussion with his wife, he throws his broken specs into water and the scene changes, instead of that there could have been a Lord Ram scene, that would have been more relevant.
5. The CGI of the ship was BAD. Even the lab introduction scene one could figure out easily.
6. All the scientist when introduced never stood up, all the chairs were very prominent, making it like a chair commercial.
7. The CGI of the suit was BAD, when you compare to Iron Man blatantly on screen you should at least deliver 50%.
8. They found the floating rock in second try without much drama and the rock lifting scene was unnecessarily hyped.
9. There was not much smoke and daggers when discussing the reports of the rock finding, all knew what would be the next scene and then in happened.
10. After saving the team, on the beach the Makeup was really BAD, Jacqueline Fernandez is so beautiful but ...
11. The goon uselessly killed the old librarian, he gave the details required.... why kill?
12. The crocodile scene was forced, in a river there is a single crocodile pointing way towards a crocodile shaped rock.
13. After exiting the cave, the helicopter came instantly as if there was tracking device.
14. AK uses the bag with the rock to hit the goon, earlier the other person carried the rock in bag on his back. Even earlier AK had to pick on shoulder to lift rock, how light/heavy is the rock?
15. How did AK reach court on-time, all of the rock/helicopter drama happened on the day of court, then he travelled and appeared. I do not know Supreme Court to entertain such misconduct.
16. The dubbing of the final monologue was shamelessly poor. Somebody must have watched it and approved it.
17. After realizing his stance on Ram Setu, after guessing that the help was from Hanuman ji, AK's stance on religion was not further explored.
Some of these points might look nit-picky but this movie had the potential to be of the likes of Indiana Jones, had a good plot and could have been franchised easily, but lacked vision. Senior actors of Bollywood like Akshay Kumar, have crowd pulling capacity at the same time have responsibility to bring movies that have good watch experience.
