A pretty good Hallmark movie, even if it was incredibly predictable every step of the way.
The chemistry between Brendan Penney and Erin Cahill (one of my Hallmark favourites) is what makes this otherwise fairly run-of-the-mill film rise above the rest. They play Andrew and Kelly respectively, two high school sweethearts from a small town in North Carolina. Kelly is still there, but Andrew left for culinary school in Paris and has rarely been back to NC since. They have a reunion in their hometown and soon after, Kelly is invited on a cooking reality show filming in New York City for Valentines Day, sworn to absolute secrecy. There are three other competitors - and you will never guess who one of them is! Andrew!
Like I said, predictable, but enjoyable. Cahill and Penny are great together as they work through their relationship issues in New York City, whilst trying to hide from the other that they are on the show.
