Watched this show for the 1st time at season 18. The only real entertainment & laughs I got was from the banter between Alton &Leo towards the end of the show. I mean could someone pls explain to me, how ANYONE who spills macaroni into a dirty sink, amid sponges, food bits et al & scoops it out w/ their hands & reuses it not only wins the 'best dish' but also the top cook of the challenge! Later on she loses a fingernail in the food & yet wins again AND ends up the big winner? That can't be real? People being kept on that spit food in their hands, open bags with their teeth? All the while the 'chefs' look on? Show some pride & dignity in the art of cooking. This is NOT the way to start people off in the culinary craft. Amusing and teachable moments happen naturally in the kitchen without the need for added 'whatever'. If you, as chefs, are willing to let saliva, contamination, fingernails and whatever else slide...you truly aren't deserving of the title 'chef'.
