Warren william is philo vance in a first national shortie. When monty (george meeker) disappears at a pool party, it's up to vance and the local copper (pallette) to figure out what happened. Co-stars lyle talbot, margaret lindsay, helen lowell. We really don't know much, with little actual information given, but it's all neatly tied up at the end. Although the resolution is pretty over the top, with information just supplied in the last three minutes. It's really a bit of a stretch when we find out what really did happen. But ah, well, it's just a film. Directed by bruce humberstone. He also did some tarzans and charlie chan films. Story by van dine, aka willard wright. It's an odd little film, but watchable. This was ten years before eugene pallette decided he didn't like certain groups of people, and left hollywood. Check out the details on wikipedia dot org. Warren william would die young at 53.
