HONEY WEST was an addictive, campy show with some very good acting. Its too bad it did not have much of a run in prime time, but its alive and well in countless reruns for 50-plus years. Honey and Sam scrap a lot in this episode as he's being over protective, believing Honey can't handle herself. The story is quite good, all about protecting a crime boss's gal pal who knows too much. Excellent opening scene as a guy is shot atop a building, which appears to have been filmed along Ventura Boulevard, just up the street from the CBS studios in Studio City, CA. Looks like the same buildings that are still standing today! Note the waterfront scenes, which are part of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND, which was being filmed at the same time on the CBS lot. Look for Warren Stevens as Arthur. He appeared with Anne Francis in the sci fi FORBIDDEN PLANT. Also familiar character actor Herb Edelman, who could play some mean bad guys or just ordinary joes. Best remembered on THE GOLDEN GIRLS. The show is now being rerun on the DECADES network and applause, applause for a weekend marathon of episodes. SEASON 1 EPISODE 5. FINALLY on dvd.
