A Homecoming For The Holidays (2019) -

I have always been a fan of Stephen Huszar, even in some of his smaller roles, but he's starting to look as if he's unwell or something? Just occasionally when the make up hadn't been properly applied or the lighting wasn't right, he looked like he might need a good nights sleep. He was still incredibly handsome, but I worry about him.

In this film, playing the role of Matt, although he was clearly older than his romantic leading lady Charlotte (Laura Osnes), they seemed very good together. I liked the way that they got along so easily and their meet-cute at the beginning.

The veteran films have had a habit usually to be a bit too sentimental and forced, but this one got the balance perfectly. It was a bit soppy, but not in an unnatural way and only done to pluck the heartstrings, which it did nicely.

It was actually a bit of a crossover of the usual vet films and the country music ones and it worked really well. There was no one to dislike and nothing played too far. The music wasn't very stand out though.

If I had to make a criticism it would be that the breakdown of their relations was a bit lame, although I could understand it perhaps a bit more than others from this style of film.

I'd definitely watch it again, but it hasn't made the top of my list.

6/10.
