Why didn't they do this sooner?

So you've got a well-known Broadway musical theater performer in your regular cast and she doesn't sing until the sixth season? Big mistake. Hattie Winston had been in a bunch of shows, among them "Hair!", "I Love My Life," "The Me Nobody Knows," "Two Gentlemen of Verona," "Scapino," "Does a Tiger Wear a Necklace" and in her most famous role as Ginnie in "The Tap Dance Kid" with Hinton Battle, Alonso Ribeiro and Savion Glover. Without overdoing it and going to contrived lengths, they could have found other storylines in which Winston could sing. With her husband, Harold Wheeler, as the pianist in this episode, it was a lot of fun.
