In 2018 Katie Douglas starred in the film of a true story about Lisa McVey, who was abducted but managed to escape her kidnapper. She was not initially believed by police but due to her presence of mind in noting many details about her abductor, police were later able to catch him and he was executed for many other abductions, rapes and murders.
In this film Katie Douglas again plays aa girl, this time Kara Robinson, in a true story about her abduction by a serial killer, her rape and eventual escape, and how by memorising many details about the man who abducted her helped the police find out who he was. As they moved in to arrest him he shot himself.
Although the plot is slightly different, the main gist f teh two films is identical and Katie Douglas does a fine job of acting in both. Sadly in the Kara Robinson story the production values fit a low budget TV film rather than the better produced Lisa McVey story.
Some very dodgy editing means the film doesn't flow, and acting from all the cast apart from Douglas ranged from average to poor.
Nevertheless it's a true story, and a shocking one and Douglas plays a great part so it's worth watching.
