Satisfying end to camp arc
19 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode is a little overhated in my opinion. It is a satisfying conclusion to the summer camp arc, by which i mean I'm satisfied that it's over. Nick and Andrew are friends again, which is good. The whole 'poop signifying Andrew's meanness and guilt' is pretty interesting, and it plays out in classic Big Mouth fashion. Finding out that Bob Reedy isn't real was certainly interesting, and Nick's reaction was hilarious. The Jessi/Natalie storyline was probably a projection of the extremely progressive viewpoints of the creators, and I think they did a decent job with Natalie throughout the season. The only thing is, I think Sam has the right to not want people to know who he's kissing. If he doesn't want people to know, then his partner should respect that (as was previously outlined with the whole Gina/Nick thing a few seasons back). It seems a little contradictory, and I don't see how it makes Sam transphobic at all. The Jay/Lola storyline was weird, and kept up with this season's theme so far of being visually off-putting and gross. I'm happy that camp is finally over, as this was one of the worst 3-episode stretches in my opinion.
