Oscar Wilde (1960)

It's late 19th century. Oscar Wilde (Robert Morley) is a successful flamboyant married writer. His friend Lord Alfred Douglas (John Neville) is being blackmailed after his letters were stolen. Their relationship slowly descend into homosexual scandal and court cases leading to Oscar's decline.

This came out at the same time as The Trials of Oscar Wilde. This one is the lesser production although it did come out first. I do really like Robert Morley as Oscar Wilde. His homosexual relationship is always hinted at, but never actually shown or said outright. I guess that's not unexpected for that time. I haven't seen the other movie.
