Rocktober Blood is my personal favorite of the wave of Hard Rock/Heavy Metal slasher movies out of the 1980's. A heavy metal singer Billy Eye goes mad in the studio and starts killing people. He gets sentenced to death and the band plays on. However, somehow dude is not dead and comes back for one final gig and for revenge. The best thing about the film is the soundtrack with excellent head banging tunes performed by the band Sorcery. The songs played in the movie "I'm Back", "A Killer On The Loose" and "Rainbow Eyes"are actually great heavy metal songs to party hard to and raise your fist and yell! The movie is rather typical slasher fare that slows down and gets boring until the band goes back on the stage. Is Rocktober Blood a good movie? Not really, it's extremely cheesy and the acting is really bad. This was clearly made on the cheap with some blood and boobies to boot. Billy Eye is a hilarious villain and is played with campy glee. Rocktober Blood is low budget trash, but I enjoyed it the best of the few 80's metal horror that were released in the cheesiest decade of all time. A guilty pleasure for sure. I could have done without the update of what the people who made this have been up to for the last 25 years. I wasted 20 minutes of my life hearing about Jesus and greyhounds. Oh, and did I mention Jesus?
