DCI Banks: Aftermath: Part 2 (2010)
Season 1, Episode 2

a bit rough around the edges

Warning: Spoilers
I loved the way this 2-parter started. But the writers need to do more research on abused women. I don't think she would have participated in the killings with her lover then just automatically capitulated to a one-liner from Banks to "feel something." Not only was that part unrealistic...and out of place as the denoument...but the whole thing had odd clumsiness in police procedure, in the lability of the main characters' personalities and emotions, and other parts that didn't fit the puzzle. Like the woman who had the affair with the killer. Either they should have worked her into the killings somehow or shown that she was enthralled by the killer, thereby revealing how he could have had such a hold over his wife. And that is really what bothers me most -- all the main characters were all over the place and totally inconsistent in every way. I will watch the third episode to see if I want to continue. Because I'm only interested if I can get a read on who the DCI and DS and support team are going to be throughout the series. I think each "story" they present should be able to stand alone. The first 2-part story definitely cannot.
