First of all, the stupidity of entering Iraq by this bunch is laughable. Booth maybe with connections. But Cam. Come on! Then they step right into a lab to evaluate the death of a prominent guy's son. They also, seamlessly connect to the lab back home and get advice on their investigation. Not to mention negotiating the politics. At one point they would have been allowed to leave and choose rather to risk all their lives so they can find the murderer. The whole thing smacks oof stupidity. The other plot (there's always one more) is Booth continuing his gambling and Bones and the little girl coming under threat. I suppose at some point someone will say it's disease so he couldn't help himself. Gambling may be addictive but, unlike alcoholism, it's not physiological. That's my opinion. I'm sure some would disagree.
