Tony Robinson is a young cyclist who gets run over by a blue pick up in a traffic collision where a few other cars were involved.
The driver of the pick up truck fled the scene. One lady Carly Chase swerved her car to avoid hitting Tony but is arrested for drink driving.
DSI Grace thinks that Tony might have been targeted. His backpack contained Ecstasy pills. Until then the police need to find the driver of the pick up truck.
Soon other people involved in the collision turn up dead, there is evidence they might have been tortured before they died.
