The Mandalorian: Chapter 22: Guns for Hire (2023)
Season 3, Episode 6

Felt like a bad episode of Book of Boba Fett
6 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Remember those cringy episodes in BOBF when episodes seemed like they didn't belong in the Star Wars universe? Well this episode was one of those.

Jack black, Lizzo and Christopher Lloyd all star in this episode and basically have the episode revolve around them. Unfortunately it felt like it took away from the episode because they just didn't belong. Take for example Bill Burr, his character was great and he seemed to just fit the character.

Other than the characters, the story for this episode was a tad boring as Bo and Djin go out to look for Bo Katan's old crew, but instead get side tracked (of course) and are asked to fix a droid issue. Djin kicks a few robots, one of them starts running away and eventually gets shot by Bo Katan. After doing so, they find out the ex-imperial droid was purposely malfunctioning because of Christopher Lloyd's character being a Doku loyalist. This side quest doesn't really do anything for the plot as a whole and was just created to have other famous people Star in the show.

My other gripe is how Djin just gives Bo Katan the dark saber. Why didn't he just give it to her after he was rescued by her? There was no way of knowing they would team up and go on a journey together at that point or that Bo would accept the invite into the clan. If Djin truly thought she deserved/earned the Dark saber he would have given it to her on the spot.
