The first series of 'Only Fools and Horses' felt like it was learning as it went along about what worked and what didn't, but that's the same with any show.
This is one of the better episodes from the first series, and feels very much like what 'Only Fools' would become as it went along.
There are lots of lovely moments, and signs that writer/creator John Sullivan was starting to tailor the material to the portrayals his leads were giving.
It's not perfect, there are some slower moments, but on the whole this is one of the few episodes from the first series that I would choose to go back and revisit.
