For a season finale, this was as underwhelming as it gets. Once the high and the excitement of the fact that a video game based off of a video game is actually decent for a change, it becomes very obvious that the show does not know how to grow within itself.
The pacing has been inconsistent for a few episodes now and the overall production quality has followed the same path. All the potential and excitement around this show rests on the acting / performance of the cast, they struck lighting in the bottle getting people who embody the essence of the character. The moment this show stops pulling at your heartstrings and you focus on what is beyond the surface everything feels hollow.
The Last of Us is a good show among the realm of video game fans, but it is not a great show when you stop seeing everything with rose tinted glasses of a fan, the flaws are plenty and it becomes very obvious that the direction is peeking into being amateurish.
