I decided to watch this film solely for the reason that I liked what these guys did with Game Night. I'm not a dungeons and dragons or knights in armor period movies fan, but I was hoping this movie would still be well-written with great comedic timing.
It was just so-so. I would say it was a like a Guy Ritchie Sherlock movie, with all the steampunk tech and modern day lingo.
None of the characters were likeable, or you didn't care whether they lived or died, or lived happily ever after. The action was okay, but I couldn't help but think I was watching a movie that was more animation than live. Even the horses they were riding were clearly CGI.
I would say that unless you are a die-hard fan of the dragons and knights genre, you might enjoy this. If you're just a casual fan of adventure movies, you can skip this one.
