The crew visit the Daystrom Station and reconnect with more familiar faces.

This is an enjoyable episode that does the necessary character reintroductions whilst taking time to pause for Star Trek nostalgia.

Those who appreciate a bit of fan service should like this one. Most of the TNG band are back together, along with Voyager's most popular character, and they have a high stake mission that involves references to DS9's best storyline. Certain storylines from previous seasons are undermined, but even dead characters will not get in the way of what the showrunners want to put on screen.

Some aspects feel a bit forced, such as one reluctant character who puts up a fight to avoid getting involved, but it's all in keeping with themes of parenthood and legacy. You would think this individual would be against their offspring going anywhere near Starfleet if personal safety was that big a deal.

Jack Crusher's arc continues to drip feed information in a mysterious way. This will need a strong payoff in the later episodes, given how much time we have to spend listening to him self-obsess.

All actors are on great form and the production values continue to be strong.
