Love's Long Journey (2005 TV Movie)
7/10
Not as romantic as the others but still a faith based pioneers family story.

This is the third film in the Love Comes Softly series on Hallmark that are based on the series of books of the same name by Janette Oke. Mattie and Willie LaHaye have struck out on their own, traveling via wagon train to find land to start a cattle ranch on. Once they do, Willie hires a very eclectic group of ranch hands...Cookie, Scottie, Henry and Fyn. They may be eclectic, but they become fiercely loyal and part of the LaHaye family as Missy and Willie strive to settle in and make a real home for both themselves and others. As always Missy and Willie lean into their faith and encourage the same in their friends and everyone they meet.

Beautiful, loving family series that tells a fun pioneering story centered around faith. This is the first film in the series to deviate from a central romantic storyline...it is no less enjoyable (and I say that as a romantic!). I highly recommend this film to fans of the series and anyone looking for family entertainment. There is both a Christian and a Christmas storyline woven into the plot.

I enjoyed seeing Dale Midkiff back as Clark Davis and Logan Bartholomew as Willie LaHaye. It is nice to see the continuation of the story with the same actors.
