Suspend, and I mean REALLY suspend your disbelief!

Warning: Spoilers
I'm gonna go on a rant so please, excuse me.

After giving it some thought, I understood why they had to go with this plan. Maybe they could've sold or pawned something, and the wife could have picked up a job but those resolutions are just band-aids. The whole thing is that the husband is getting old and he's scared he won't be able to hold down a job before he gets his pension. Okay, all done and cleared.

The thing that stumped me though, is why the hell did his wife show up 2-3 days before they get the money after 7 long years?? If you want to get a divorce, just wait until you have the money then sort it out later! Another thing, why on Earth did she think he would be okay with just $1500 (I converted and it's $16,893 in today's purchasing power)?? He would be better off eating prison food if she lied and told everyone he had her kidnapped and faked her death than that measly little $1500 she offered him, which only covers 4-5 months of necessities I assume. It's like she begged him to kill her.

Anyway, I still have a lot to rant about that last plot twist but I'm too tired. Overall, it was an enjoyable episode, but the twist can be much better.
