An enjoyable six-part Thai drama
25 April 2023
This Thai drama series is centred on Wanchai, a man who has caught a bus to Bangkok where he hopes to help his brother. Things go bad as soon as he gets off the bus; the car with his brother in crashes. Several people are killed including his brother. His brother worked for a private ambulance/rescue service and Wanchai quickly comes to believe that there is corruption in the organisation and beyond. He starts working with a smaller, rival group. Not long afterwards he is approached by a dubious character who claims his brother had debts and he will now have to do various jobs for him to pay off the debt. Kat, a journalist whose colleague was injured in the accident, starts looking into events and befriends Wanchai.

I thought this was a solid little series. At only six episodes in length. The central story may get more than a little melodramatic at times it is still fun to watch. There is some solid action; some CGI is a little obvious but an early 'burning building' scene was really impressive. The characters are solid, especially protagonists Wanchai and Kat. The more villainous characters are fairly obvious in an enjoyable pantomime-villain style. Most plot lines are nicely wrapped up by the end of the final episode although a final scene hints at a second season that was never made.

These comments are based on watching the series in Thai with English subtitles.
