Episode 2 - "Exchanges"

I'm a big movie fan, as I've let it slip through in my reviews; sometimes you see a very bad movie and you wonder why you're so intrigued by the medium, but then there are these revelations, like Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, that answer those questions instantly and without any doubt, and I had exactly such an experience, such a revelation, with this episode; I haven't had that feeling since Kubrick's masterpiece. There is one scene in this episode where everything is perfect down to the last bar. Sometimes you don't find such scenes in several hundred films, some have never seen a scene like this. She reveals the true power of the medium and lets you see beyond the obvious, like planning ten moves in chess. This scene made me weep inside from the cinematic and cinematic beauty. To see such a scene in a series I never thought possible before. For me, it's one of the best scenes I've ever seen in a film (here a series). In this scene, it's not just the camera that always perfectly films what's happening, no, it's also the editing and the beautiful music, which is already among the best of the last 50 years, if not all time. But the most impressive thing about this scene was the acting. I love Anya Taylor-Joy - I said she's the best actress of all time and the best since Audrey Hepburn - forget everything I said, she's the best actress of all time. You can read so much in their eyes - you can't even read that much on the whole body of some actors. Then there's the acting of Harry Melling, a newcomer not to be underestimated who looks very old against Taylor-Joy, but still does a brilliant job. I love the medium for these moments. For me, "The Queen's Gambit" is already, after just two episodes, the best series of all time and a work that could be in my top 5 favorite films.
