6/10
An entertaining watch but far from Chan's best

Battle Creek Brawl (1980) is a movie that I recently watched for the first time in a long time on Prime. The storyline takes place in the 1930s and follows a street fighting club. A huge brute has owned the fight club for some time. When a Chicago mobster discovers a young Asian-American martial artist he forces him to join the club to eventually face the brute.

This movie is directed by Robert Clouse (Enter the Dragon) and stars Jackie Chan (Rumble in the Bronx), Kristine DeBell (Meatballs), Mako (Conan the Barbarian), H. B. Haggerty (The Muppet Movie) and Rosalind Chao (Mulan).

This is a fun Jackie Chan picture but far from his best. There's a nice diversity of fighters, outfits and fighting styles; however, the non-Jackie Chan fight scenes have mediocre to bad choreography. There is a nice mix of comedy, as you'd expect from a Chan flick and some unique training scenes. The villain was good but his kisses after he beat someone were awkward. The final fight was entertaining, but far from Chan's best climatic battle.

Overall, this is an entertaining watch but far from Chan's best. I would score this a 6/10 but strongly recommend it.
