An engaging story, excellent conclusion.

Having accused Radio Operator Corporal Batley of turning a gun on him, Major Fitton is stunned to see Batley, who now does by the name of William Truscott in court, he explains he was keen to see how the proceedings of the trial concluded.

Without a doubt this is that most interesting story from the court for some time, I have truly found this story quite fascinating. A great episode, leading to a verdict that I had clear opinion of, I had no idea which way it would go.

The first in a while to produce shocks and twists, this really does have a degree of intrigue. It's the first time on the show I can think where there is a huge deal of ambiguity, and two very different stories, with only one being true, the other false.

I wonder if writer Bruce Stewart had some personal link to such a storyline in real life, it is so specific. He wrote a cracking story, I remember the name from Sergeant Cork, he wrote several excellent episodes for that show, definitely a talented writer.

Best known to millions as Doctor George Bullard on Midsomer Murders, it's great to see Barry Jackson, here playing Corporal Batley/William Truscott. The acting throughout was first rate.

I rated this one very highly, 9/10.
