Good Restart, nice final touch
17 May 2023
This was overall a good restart to the show. There are a number of flaws. I, for one, could do with a lot less of the industrial music in the science montages.

I would have liked, however, so have seen a little bit more of the actual court case, especially with the ending and recovery of the key witness. There's a whole story to be had there.

Could do without the young male character--honestly he's just boring and bland. I don't know if that's the fault of the writers or the actor or what, but can we make him... ...interesting in some way? Any way? Look at the male actors in the original show--we had Nick and Danny who were both detailed and had a professional rivalry, we had Grissom, who was the father figure without any understanding of politics or bureaucracy outside of the insect colonies he studied, and we had Greg the wacky, try anything for fun guy. Where are these people? In fact, most of the lab techs don't seem to have been developed at all. All the effort has been put into the new leader, who's a mom and... um... the new leader, and the Indian woman who is... ...from India? And, that's about it. There seems to be an effort to force an office place romance between her and Mr Bland. Can we please please please please have some professionalism in the workplace and NOT have an office romance? Remember that Grissom and Sidle got in trouble for their relationship?

The zing at the end has me curious about season 2.
