Great Aussie Creature Feature

Warning: Spoilers
When Australia make a horror movie, they do it well and when it involves terrifying creatures, we are at the top of our game. Dark Water, Red Billabong, Rogue, There's Something in the Pilliga, and now Carnifex. This is an engrossing movie about a huge dangerous megafauna that has somehow managed to survive and remain hidden deep in the bush until a bushfire forces it to change its hunting ground. The action is great and the movie does take its time to set the mood and pace. The photography in the bush is spectacular showcasing Australia's unique wildlife.

This is a movie that also has a strong environmental message as Australia has been experiencing massive land clearing that has been pushing wildlife to near extinction. This has also been happening worldwide so this delivers an important message about preserving what we have left of our habitats. But even without that message, this is still a good horror movie.
