Mrs. Davis (2023)
9/10
Wild unique ride with a perfect ending

First I should say that I'm a Christian, and I would have given this a 10/10 if it hadn't gotten so weird with Jesus but I still loved it. It's frustrating because with a few tweaks it could have avoided this issue and told more or less the same story and it would have been a lot easier for me to recommend this and fully endorse it, even if it strayed pretty far Biblically. I understand it wasn't the point of the show to tell a Biblically accurate story but there are a few...divergences, let's say...that are a little hard to wave off. It's just like, "Why?" When you could have so easily NOT done this.

That being said, this was a riot and I LOVED probably 80-85% of it which is pretty high for me. I'm so pleased it was a limited series and it wrapped the story up beautifully. I'll definitely be rewatching before too long. Great characters, lots of twists and turns, and so much delightful absurdity.

Other reviewers have mentioned this but it's worth repeating: this was just so refreshing and different and weird (this time I mean that in a good way). My kudos to Peacock for taking a chance on something so different and kudos to the creators and writers for telling a story that was so engaging and unpredictable.

Did it all 100% make sense? Not really. But it wouldn't have been nearly so fun if it had.
