Arthur and Ray flee the hotel due to the enormous bill they can't pay. They go to the British consulate. Arthur reacts angrily when told it is his responsibility to get home.

Reid assumes Arthur Daley is a false name and Arthur and Ray aren't really uncle and nephew. He tells his men to find out more about them.

Ray phones the Winchester to discover Dave has closed the club to go round the south of England looking for a country pub to buy. With Arthur's wife staying with her sister and Ray not wanting to bother his parents, they realise they are stranded in Australia. During lunch they discuss getting jobs to raise the money they need.

Reid's men go to Arthur's hotel to get information from the receptionist. They report back to Reid, who is unimpressed. He tells them to bring Arthur to him for a meeting.

Arthur and Ray go to a hostel for accommodation. Ray gets a job at a kebab stand outside Sydney Cricket Ground and a second job as a barman in a pub. Whilst there they meet a woman called Robyn, who tries selling Arthur a make up kit. He tells her her sales technique is wrong and proceeds to sell several to a group of men, then asks her who supplies her stock. Robyn takes them to a pub to meet her father, Derek Collins. Whilst there both Derek and Arthur win after betting on a horse race, so Arthur buys some solar powered radios.

Arthur and Derek sell the radios on the pier. Robyn shows Ray the sights.

Arthur and Ray return to the hotel to get their bill. After they leave the receptionist calls to tip off Reid's men. Ray goes to work. Reid's men approach Arthur on the street and take him to Reid. Reid is under the impression Arthur is a con man trying to claim the inheritance. He proposes a partnership with Arthur to sell drugs in the UK.

At Derek's house, Arthur explains Reid's offer. They try to come up with a way to make more money.

Ray and Robyn walk around Sydney and kiss. Arthur and Derek get drunk in the pub, then get stopped by the police for drink driving. Arthur returns to the hostel in a panic and tells Ray they must leave. Ray says they can't as they still have to pay the hotel bill. They sleep in Derek's storage unit.

Arthur and Derek fail to sell any electronic personal organisers. Arthur attempts to sell one to a man in the pub, who turns out to be a policeman, Sergeant Davis, who tells Arthur he is selling stolen goods and is under arrest. At the police station Davis accuses Arthur of doing business with Reid, who the police have under surveillance. Davis tells Arthur the police have spoken to Bill McCabe, who confirmed who Arthur is. He warns him to be out of Australia in 48 hours and the matter will be closed.

At Reid's house, he and several business associates are waiting for Arthur, who is late for a meeting. He gets word that Arthur was seen with the police and assumes he has informed on Reid.

Ray talks to Robyn about not being able to buy plane tickets home. She takes Ray to a travel agent. Robyn has been on a waiting list to travel to England for a long time and is near the top of the list. She asks for two tickets, but is told she will go back to the bottom of the list.

Arthur is taken to see Reid and explains who he is. Ray and Robyn return home and find Derek tied to a chair. Then Arthur is dropped off by Reid's men. Ray tells Arthur they have their plane tickets.

At the airport, Arthur and Ray say goodbye to Derek and Robyn. On the plane Ray tells Arthur they can't afford to buy alcohol as they set off home.
