Considering the release time, I'd guess for some of the actors were on a hiatus or short of work as it times with Covid still being a major impact. I have to say it feels like the whole production is half hearted and only intended as a filler for some of these better regarded actors. The script plays like a daytime soap. The biggest painful tooth absess of all this is the constant background music that intrudes on the plot and dialogue. Ironically the bigger stars (Sarandon and Friel) distract from the show. At times it looks like a Comedy Central or SNL piss take. It's amateur and as others have mentioned cliched. 11 episodes was generous. I'm sure everyone involved breathed a sigh of relief that it was cancelled.
