This was overall better than anticipated, thought I was going to have to grind my way through it but I found myself enjoying at least parts of it.
This was far less than I initially thought about drug dealing or business making or mafia affairs as it was about family. About that at the end of the day it all comes down to family and the people you care about.
The main character was okay I would say, although his stiff-upper-lip stonefaced acting got on my nerves a couple of times. The only likeable character was the israeli bodyguard, and the only convincing actor was the russian kingpin. The rest were pretty cliche in their acting.
The heavy russian presence was also a bit off-putting in times like these, but I guess you can't blame the filmmakers for that. Only that I chose to watch it at the time I did...
It would have been interesting to see where they would have taken this, had a second season ever been made. But as often is the case, that would probably have been way worse than this so guess I should be happy with what we got.
