Bosch: The Thing About Secrets (2016)
Season 2, Episode 2
8/10
Solid second episode

Bosch and others continue the investigation into Allen's murder.

The plot is slowly developing with information being drip-fed about certain characters, with no major revelations yet. For me the most intriguing part is when the reporter contacts Bosch.

Bosch banging heads with the FBI is a good moment as it produces a a level of frustration from its depiction of law enforcement organisations with cross purposes. The scenes involving Irving become more interesting now as it makes you want to find out how he will play the election politics. Plus the situation involving his son makes the it all feel like a ticking time-bomb.

For me the strongest aspect is the dialogue exchanges between characters, which feels very natural and like it's coming from real people.

I agree with another reviewer who mentions there is too much focus at times on the characters personal lives. One scene in particular with Billets in a jazz club feels like nothing more than to fill time.

For me it's a 7.5/10, but I round upwards.
