The series follows Gu San-yeong, a public prosecutor who inherits a mysterious relic from her late father, a former folklore professor. Soon after, she starts to experience strange phenomena and becomes involved in a series of unexplained deaths. She meets Yeom Hae-sang, a folklore professor who can see ghosts and demons. He recognizes the relic as a source of evil and tries to help San-yeong. Together, they uncover the dark secrets behind the relic and the demon that haunts them.

The series is a masterful blend of mystery, suspense and horror, with stunning cinematography, atmospheric music and realistic effects. The series explores the themes of family, trauma, justice and redemption, as the characters face their inner demons and their outer enemies. The series also showcases the rich and diverse aspects of Korean culture and folklore, with references to myths, legends and rituals.

Akgwi is a series that will keep you hooked from the first episode to the last. It is a must-watch for fans of Korean dramas, horror thrillers and folklore stories.
