I was going to give it 1 star for casting, talent, writing, directing, who can direct a loser? 2 is only because it's banal & not mean spirited. And CANNES shines, gets it the 2nd star.
I am sure there are expats & many speak English as 2nd language, but it's still a French city. French love their Francais. So having Cannes police & every man on the street speaking English is just wierd. Yes I've seen German in France & Spain, speaking German as if the home language. And historic Russian, French, Italian, made by US or UK speak English. But this is just wierd & unsettling.
I kept losing interest. So I am not even sure about the 2 leads' acting, with bad dialog. JAMIE, I've liked in the past. Or, So I thought, but all he does is mug. Director, Writer's fault? After the scenery in the Murders in... series which shines, This is disappointing.
