Problematic message delivery?
28 July 2023
Its more like 6.5 Problematic but intriguing, new, and original plot.

This is the tale of a young man named "Ajay" who enjoys maintaining a persona of perfection. Although he is revered by all, is he content with the persona he is presenting?

Movie has deep and important message but, way the journey is shown that "Ajay" takes to make things right but discover the truth and find answers is little problematic.

The shift from the present to the past doesn't feel forced, the cinematography is outstanding, and the decision to depict the atrocities of World War II in black and white makes sense.

The cast as a whole does a great job, especially "Ajay"s father and his friend. The performance of "Janvi Kapoor" is ordinary. Although "Varun Dhawan" as "Ajay" performs well as an obstinate, uncaring a**hole, his emotional acting comes across as fairly generic. The change in him during the journey through europe feels sudden and unnatural, and that is bad screenplay.

The comparison made between Hitler's treatment of Jews during World War II and the problems with "Ajay" and his marriage seems a bit ludicrous. It appears that the writer only has a cursory understanding of historical events.

Jokes and comedy that incorporates a Gujarati family and its stereotypes come out as forced.

The writer/director makes an absurd attempt to compare the troubles in married couples' relationships to what happened to Jews in death camps. Additionally, the survivor of the "Auschwitz" camp's monologue comes off as having been constructed only for the purpose of the movie's plot.

It seems that the World War II plot was only employed to gain a foreign place; otherwise, the same voyage could have been taken in India and would have worked better.
