Yes he enjoyed a drink as most of us do, he was also the first person to bring this type of cooking to the UK and television. Not like the celebrity chefs now who are now milking the industry dry financially.
From his love of food and gastronomy, his impressive intellect as a fierce historian, the series is not only shows the beauty and history for food from around theses areas of the world.
He sadly died of a heart attack in 2009 but his legacy will live on and quite rightly so. He also did many other helpful and informative series around the world.
