Reviews here are biased

Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers only further into review with warning. I feel like many reviews here are biased because they like tf2, respect the creator, the work put into the animation and so on. But judging the movie itself, I think it's below mediocre.

The story telling is heavily visual rather than through dialogue, which leaves many things to interpretation. I think too much. There are a lot of jump cuts and it's pretty chopped up in chapters, which I dislike. It breaks the continuity and the immersion.

The movie relies heavily on the paranormal for things that otherwise could not possibly happen or would be hard to explain. This is ok for a horror movie, but I think this movie does it too much. The world depicted in the movie doesn't have consistent rules. Things happen and then are revealed to be memories and illusions, but then have an impact on the "real" world in a convenient way very often. When the paranormal and the real world are so intertwined, anything seems possible and I am expecting literally anything to happen next.

Spoiler territory: I come to believe the doctor is straight up invincible. Surviving many fights and miraculously healing himself on occasion (example: fight with the engineer). Also, the soldier surviving a shot because of the drink recipient is so cliche lol. There are quite a few cliches.

The part where the doctor comes out of the coffin at the end feels straight out of an indian soap opera. Also, I get using rain for dramatic effect, but literally everytime this damn movie has a scene outside it's night and raining. Maybe I didn't express my complaints in the best way, but this movie is truly mediocre at best.

I respect the effort put into it, but as a movie, it's just not the masterpiece the others praise it to be.
