the troubles of a boyscout gangster
19 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Totally ridiculous and unbelievable story of goody twoshoes gangster who along with helping the unfortunate of life, robs and kills people. Bogarts character is a joke, there isnt one inch of truth in his character or what he does. He meets a seemingly unfortunate poor girl who has a geneticaly deformed foot and whose grandfather has lost his farm and tells Bogarts character they dont have the money for an operation but later we are introduced to her fiancee who is wealthy and offers to give back the money that the operation cost. However it seems for some strange reason noone thought of fixing the girls foot untill Bogarts character got involved. Bogarts character is supposed to be a pro robber but everything he does is ridiculously amateurish. From the people he agrees to take and work with him,who seem totally useless for the job at hand,to the way he goes through with the robbery which can only be called idiotic. The script seems more interested with a dog running around all the time. Ida Lupino is wasted as a seemingly lost woman who is in love with Bogarts character, she doesnt ring true either because she simply looks too smart for this character.
