In Dead in the Water, Ryn is taken in for questioning and Ben and Xander return to the deep sea to search for answers, only to be met by uninvited guests. As expected on both counts, predictable and sub-par writing. Xander with no reason to pursue this, after being fortunate enough to get his friend back and survive in the first place. He loses his father because of his greedy actions, just one episode later. The other's Maddie having not letting her father know of Ryn, as it would eventually catch up with her. Which could've also ended up worse off for those involved, like it did to Xander's father.
