The only movie that i can think of that reminds me of this is FREAKS, which i love, this is in the same boat.
You see, this movie has a clear message. The insane are insane, but they are people afterall. This movie depicts how a sort of regular person, that has nightmares, fears, traumas, gets to meet people with complete mental disfunctions...
During the whole movie, you THINK that MARCUS is this monster, this heartless ruthless person, that really tortures these people, and then you realise that he actually just let people with mental disabilites express them selves, be free, be "happy", be themselves...
The lady tricked our main "hero" into falling for her, just to get the real doctors out from their cages. Now why are they in cages? These people did this, because they treated them the worst. When our main character lets the doctors out, we realise how all of us have been ignorant, and how we did not respect the freedom of these people. Yes the way they are behaving is not regular, but at least they are happy. They are enjoying their life in the way they can, and we should let them be, as long as they are not harming anyone... But sadly the ending is how it ends...
I can tell you that this is a really, really well made movie. From the acting, the story is strong, i did found my self a bit bored during the middle of the movie, because i was confused what was i watching, and then the ending just explains everything, it hits you like a truck, and this is not the first movie that ive seen that does this... It keeps you in the loop, and then hits you like a truck same as Eyes of my Mother, and Triangle.
I am REALLY thankful that i have seen this. This is a really weird, but incredible movie that is a must watch. I loved this movie, and you should watch it! It's extremely important movie to watch in my opinion, if you liked FREAKS you'll love this.
