Warning: Spoilers
I always love watching these "independant" little films that have something positive to say about religion. So many times when I have gone to see a Christian movie I am the only one in the entire theatre! Mainstream Hollywood seems so angry and cyncial about God. It seems like every time they show a "godly" figure in a film it turns out they are either crazy or corrupt (for example I always think of Warden Norton in The Shawshank Redemption). This little film is about Liz a hard boiled cynical writer who regularly mocks God in her columns. All of a sudden she begins having eerie encounters with a mysterious entity who tell her that she needs to get right with God because her days are numbered. She is shaken and begins to have serious quesitons. A highlight of the film is where one of her coworkers gives her a beautiful message about how it is our faith in God and Jesus that gets us to Heaven not necessarily the good deeds we do. The once cyncial young reporter does a number of interviews with people on the street asking them about how you get to Heaven. SPOILER sadly Liz doesn't take the message to heart. She narrowly escapes an officer fire in the end only to fall off the sidewalk into the path of an oncoming car. Make peace with God before its too late all you have to do is kneel and speak from your heart.
