Review of M.I.A.'s

In Search of...: M.I.A.'s (1981)
Season 6, Episode 4
10/10
An American tragedy
6 September 2023
To me this is one of those "very special" tv episodes that touched my heart. I am a retired Soldier who served in Desert Storm and unlike Vietnam I had the love and support of my fellow Americans (not to mention that I was given a wonderful "welcome home" to boot!) I am so glad that America has "grown up" so to speak since Vietnam. Today even those against the war still love and support those who fight it. This episode explores the possibility of servicemen being held in Indochina long after the war. It is too short a program to explore since a complex subject but it does what it can. A sad footnote is that it features an interview with a woman named Marian Shelton whose husband Air Force Colonel Charles Shelton is one of our MIAs. She fought for years to find out what happened to him but finally took her own life in 1990 she was also a victim of Vietnam.
