I was shocked to find out that people found Gundam Reconguista better than Gundam 00. I haven't watched the very latest Gundam series yet but so far the only gundam that is above Gundam 00 is the very first series Gundam. And it is because of its historical value and the fact that it is the introduction of a whole bunch of rich concepts such as that of newtype. But apart from After war Gundam X and Gundam 00, all the Gundam series (Zeta, Victory, Wing, ZZ, SEED, SEED Destiny, Turn A,...) all have the fault of having a forced and poorly constructed dramatization as well as many deep inconsistencies, ... and Reconguista has all these flaws. Gundam Reconguista is a fairly infantile series with a lot of bad taste and inconsistencies. Examples:
Brief ! Here are some proofs that Reconguista absolutely cannot be brought to the level of Gundam 00. The only qualities of Gundam Reconguista are its great visual beauty and certain passages which present very high quality animation. The architecture of the great tower (and its Crown), the buildings, the cities,... are magnificent and colorful; the animations of the Crown of the Tower, the interludes,... are magnificent. Frankly, some of the animations (notably those of the Crown) are so beautiful that seeing them all on my 41 inches FHD television has been a moment of delight for me each time. It's the second time I watch Gundam Reconguista (the first time it was on my 17 inches laptop not really FHD). Simply put, Gundam Reconguista is the most beautiful of all Gundams. But putting these aspects aside, Gundam Reconguista is another confirmation of Yoshiyuki Tomino's lack of consistency.
- From the second episode we have the unnecessary murder of someone important and a few hours later, the teenager who committed this murder is in no way troubled by what he did. This was the first time he had killed someone and it has no impact on his attitude. We see him smiling, laughing as if nothing had happened. And on the side of the deceased's colleagues, except for one person, people remained the same, some even managed to laugh when they should be eager for revenge.
- How can 4 people (including at least 3 teenagers) get into the cockpit of the most powerful war machine (which only has one seat) and endure a whole lot of strong acceleration while they are standing and unattached?
- A work denouncing the war from which a strong festive atmosphere emerges;
- Soldiers in a position of strength who abandon their advantageous position for no reason (thus idiots);
- During a violent and long dogfight, there is a technician outside the Gundam. After the fight this guy hasn't the slightest problem;
- Why creating a sexual attraction between the central character and the one who is in fact her big sister? Why is this necessary?
