This was a very well presented documentary and I do not doubt for a second that David Herrin beat Amber Bennett to death after claiming she "fell" two days in a row. Christina Boyer was an abused child and an abused adult, and it's almost funny the way she describes Herrin as "clean cut" and better than other men she'd dated. It's painfully obvious to me from the court room footage that the man was a piece of trash back in 1992, he looks like some redneck loser and it's also obvious from the way he aggressively lied during his own trial to frame Christina although she was too kind-hearted and honest to do the same in return.
The old white Southern men acting all self-righteous in Episode 2 almost make this mini-series revolting and impossible to watch but it's an important exposure of the kind of bigoted misogynistic nonsense that goes on in Nowhere, Georgia even to this day.
